"A Select/Reject concert is like a journey — and as with the best journeys, the trip itself is the destination."
Select/Reject are a three-piece rock band from Vienna built on lean instrumentation - vocals, electric guitar, violin and the octave ukele. The band's sound is full, punchy, and constantly surprising. The writing is equal parts wit and weight. Formed from a chance meeting, since 2017, the band has assembled a body of original work that moves freely between folk-rock and heavy metal, deadpan comedy and lyricism — all within the same set. There's folk songs, punk anthems, metal riff-fests, pop hooks and the inevitabe country song. Select/Reject's identity is one unbound by genre. They reject the status quo and what they select they play with gusto.
A musician with decades of band history, Robert and his electric guitar are the band's engine, shifting from clean, nuanced picking to full distortion and back again. He composes most of the music.
The band's voice and lyricist, Nicholas has written songs from political critique to the absurd, as well as composing a number of the band's songs. He plays octave ukulele, the "grunge uke".
Classically trained, Eva plays the electric violin, carrying melodies in softer songs and adding a sharp edge when the music demands.
Select/Reject travel light and set up fast. The core live setup for UK shows is electric guitar, electric violin, octave ukulele, two vocals, and backing tracks.
Full technical rider available on request. Band supplies select DI boxes and cabling. Acoustic guitar available for specific songs if stage permits.
