Nicholas Shore is from Hesse and, as a child, only learnt to play the recorder. As this is a rather limited instrument (in his own almost humble opinion), he had to learn to sing, and initially practised enthusiastically at karaoke sessions. In his early middle age, some time after his first mid-life-crisis, he decided that karaoke wasn’t the real deal in the long run, and founded Select/Reject together with Robert. To give the music a bit more body, he learnt to play the ukulele a few years ago – but he didn’t like the high-pitched sound of the ukulele, so now he only plays an octave ukulele – the Grunge Ukulele!
Nicholas writes most of the lyrics for Select/Reject, and has also composed a few pieces.
